A local veterinary practice operated from two locations that shared a computer network. One location was damaged in a freak accident and some of the computer equipment was destroyed. At the same time the entire network crashed to an ungraceful shut down effectively stalling the practice.

3DotSolutions brought in new equipment to replace the equipment that was lost in the accident. Unfortunately the surviving equipment in the other office was outdated and incompatible with new hardware but we wanted to save the vets money. So we came up with the idea of a “business hub.” By putting the newly purchased equipment in the hub, we could provide an efficient computing environment that served both offices at once. We then located the hub in a secure location (safe from freak accidents) where it could serve both offices. We made sure each of the offices could access the servers in the hub.

By the time we were done the network was blazing fast and safer and more reliable than the old computing environment. What’s more we worked with the vets’ insurance company to make sure that the reimbursement was adequate to cover the cost of the new network installation. As a result the vets were soon back in business caring for sick animals with a computer system that met their needs and didn’t cost them an arm and a leg.
